About the Personal Trainer Exercise Course Instructor (PTI) Job Position
An Instructor's primary responsibility is to instruct the NHE PT level 1 Exercise Course and administer the PT level 1 Practical Exam, and Exercise IQ Test. The PT level 1 Exercise Course is a major part of the PT level 1 certification program. During the exercise course, students learn proper exercise technique, body positioning/mechanics, exercise program development and injury prevention. The exercise course is instructed at an authorized FCA location, and is instructed on a one-on-one basis.

Job Description
As an  exercise instructor, you will help develop and enhance the knowledge base of each student, in terms of exercise program development and prescription. Helping develop the necessary skills for conducting flexibility and strength tests; developing personalized strength, conditioning and weight loss exercise programs and exercise/cardio equipment consultations. Lastly, your responsibility as an NHE Exercise Course Instructor, will be to test the effectiveness of the exercise course by administering the NHE PT level 1 certification practical exam.

Exercise classes are 60 minutes in length. Instruction is based on the NHE Exercise Course Instructor's Manual. The NHE Practical Exam has no time allotment, however, the average administration time is 60-90 minutes. Both the instruction of the exercise course and the administration of the practical exam are conducted on a one-on-one basis, at an authorized FCA (Fitness Center Affiliate) or WCA (Wellness Center Affiliate).

Hours
Full-time or Part-time. (Weekly schedules are determined in accordance to the availability of the job holder. There are no specific, predetermined work hours. Work schedules are instituted on an individual basis.) Each new hire is given a schedule that correlates with his/her availability. In other words, there are no pre-set work schedules to adhere to. Once an agreeable schedule is determined, one that satisfies both the work load commitment (i.e. full time or part time) and the operational hours of the associated affiliate location, the implemented work schedule becomes the program schedule for the applicable affiliate location(s) [i.e. FCA or WCA]. Daily work schedules must be between 6 am and 7 pm Monday through Friday and/or between 6 am and 2 pm on Saturdays. Saturdays are not required, they are optional.

Job Qualifications (At least one of the following)
* Substantial exercise instruction expertise.
* A four year degree (e.g. exercise science; exercise physiology; kinesiology).
* Exceptional fitness/health accomplishment (e.g. bodybuilding, fitness or endurance competition; collegiate athlete).
* Exceptional career accomplishment (e.g. tenured health professor; professional athlete; published fitness author).

Expertise Level
4500 hours of professional exercise instruction experience (approx. 3 years full time). Must possess expertise in exercise program development, prescription and diagnosis.

5) NHE embroidered 'athletic' shorts (lose or fitted), (3 F/T, 1 P/T).
6) NHE embroidered 'board' shorts (3 F/T, 1 P/T).

Each of the above is provided free of charge.

CP
Part Time: $19,200-$38,400/yr.
Full Time: $76,800/yr.

CP (Compensation Packages), for this particular position, are not based on sales quotas. There are no commissions, sales percentages, tiers or bonuses associated with this particular job title. Compensation package includes salary, shares and benefits (if applicable).
